Selection and characterization of bacteria by PGPR assays

ST 3041

Description

Selection of microorganisms for use as crop inoculants, as an alternative to synthetic pesticides. Plant growth–promoting properties are evaluated.

Scope

Isolation from rhizosphere, seeds or seedlings and in vitro PGPR assays (phosphate solubilization and other properties described in the source).

Methodology

Two stages: (1) isolation of bacteria from rhizosphere, seeds or seedlings; (2) selection via in vitro PGPR assays evaluating phosphate solubilization and other plant growth–promoting properties described in the source.

Application field

Terrestrial environment

Keywords
